Welcome to The Adventurer’s Compass (https://theadventurerscompass.com), a community directory for tabletop role-playing game players, Game Masters, and game stores. By accessing or using the site, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. Accounts and profiles
You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate, maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, and activity under your account. Do not impersonate others or create misleading profiles. Members may participate as players, Game Masters, and game store representatives, subject to the site’s available features and applicable verification requirements.
Age requirements and family gaming
Accounts are intended for adults aged 18 or older. Parents and legal guardians may use their own adult accounts to find family-friendly games and contact Game Masters or stores about activities for their children. Children may not independently register or operate accounts. The site does not currently offer verified parental consent or child profiles. Please do not publish a child’s identifying information in public profiles or notices. If we learn that an account is operated by a minor or contains identifying information about a child, we may restrict access, remove information, and take steps required by law. Any future parent-managed family profiles will require additional safeguards before launch.
2. Listings, notices, and community content
You are responsible for profiles, notices, game descriptions, store listings, images, and other material you submit. You confirm that you have permission to submit that material and that it does not infringe others’ rights. Do not post scams, spam, harassment, hateful or threatening content, unlawful material, deceptive advertisements, or another person’s private information without permission. Do not claim ownership of a game store you are not authorized to represent.
3. Finding and contacting other members
The site helps members discover and contact others; it does not independently guarantee identities, qualifications, availability, safety, game quality, or that a match will be successful. Use your own judgment when arranging games, meetings, or transactions. Respect others’ boundaries and do not use contact tools to harass or solicit people unlawfully.
4. Moderation and access
We may review, hide, edit, or remove listings and notices, or restrict accounts, when reasonably necessary to protect the community, enforce these terms, comply with law, or maintain the service. We do not guarantee that all user-submitted material is reviewed before publication.
5. Store listings, purchases, and external services
Game stores and third parties are responsible for their own products, services, events, pricing, and representations. The site may link to external websites, and those sites have their own terms and privacy practices. Any paid listings, subscriptions, digital products, or other paid features will be governed by the specific terms and prices shown at the time of purchase. We do not promise that any particular paid feature is currently available.
6. Intellectual property
Site branding, original site content, and design belong to their respective owners. You retain ownership of content you submit, but grant The Adventurer’s Compass a nonexclusive permission to host, display, and distribute it as needed to operate and promote the features in which you submit it. You must have the necessary rights to grant this permission. You can request removal of your content, subject to legal or operational retention requirements.
7. Service availability and disclaimers
We aim to provide a useful, reliable service, but features may change, be unavailable, or contain errors. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without guarantees of uninterrupted access or successful matches. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Privacy and cookies
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. The site may use essential cookies, analytics, and, if enabled, advertising technologies. Applicable consent and privacy choices will be provided as required by law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site develops. Material updates will be posted here with a revised date and, when required, additional notice. Continued use after an update takes effect indicates acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
